Every now and then it’s important to take stock, to properly process lessons as they come and to celebrate all God does. So I’m writing this mainly for myself. Hopefully you may find some of this useful and/or thought provoking too.
In my first post in this series I explored the question “what is God’s mission?”, and the second post briefly answered “who are we and how did we get here?” in regards to our New Creation Christian Community. In this final post in the series I’ll set out to describe some of the new vision stirring in our community.
– – –
What does it mean to ‘own the vision’?
Does it mean we do what’s always been done or from time to time does God want to bring something new to us? And does that mean the original vision was wrong or that God is fickle and has changed His mind? Do difficulties mean that God’s stopped blessing us or can they be opportunities to grab our attention and communicate the new direction or vision?
When the church is struggling, the temptation for the leaders is to point the finger. It can be easy for leaders to exhort the congregation, point out their faults, and bemoan their stubbornness and their reservations.
Instead, those of us in leadership must take the blame.
